Connecting Complex Electronic Pattern Formation to Critical Exponents

چکیده
Scanning probes reveal complex, inhomogeneous patterns on the surface of many condensed matter systems. In some cases, form self-similar, fractal geometric clusters. this paper, we advance theory criticality as it pertains to those clusters (defined connected sets nearest-neighbor aligned spins) in context Ising models. We show how data from can be used distinguish whether electronic observed at a material are confined surface, or originate bulk. Whereas thermodynamic critical exponents derived behavior Fortuin-Kasteleyn (FK) clusters, similarly defined for find that these not only distinct numerically and uncorrelated percolation exponents, but they separately satisfy scaling relations fixed points discussed text. furthermore two-dimensional (2D) cross-sections three-dimensional (3D) model display bulk phase transition temperature. particular, when considered 2D slice 3D system, pair connectivity function familiar displays more robust than spin-spin correlation function, calculate corresponding exponent. discuss implications two length scales also exponent clean case. These results extend universality classes, facilitate broad application cluster analysis techniques maximize information extracted scanning image probe

P - 122 : Pattern formation in electronic paper
Hexagonal pattern formation in the pigment structure of electrophoretic image displays (EPIDs) is measured in samples with a high concentration of free charge. In this article we will explain which phenomenon is at the origin of the pattern formation.
متن کاملON QUASILINEAR ELLIPTIC SYSTEMS INVOLVING MULTIPLE CRITICAL EXPONENTS
In this paper, we consider the existence of a non-trivial weaksolution to a quasilinear elliptic system involving critical Hardyexponents. The main issue of the paper is to understand thebehavior of these Palais-Smale sequences. Indeed, the principaldifficulty here is that there is an asymptotic competition betweenthe energy functional carried by the critical nonlinearities. Thenby the variatio...
متن کاملNuclear multifragmentation critical exponents.
In a recent Letter [1] the EoS collaboration presented data of fragmentation of 1 A GeV gold nuclei incident on carbon. By analyzing moments of the fragment charge distribution, the authors claim to determine the values of the critical exponents γ, β, and τ for finite nuclei. These data represent a crucial step forward in our understanding of the physics of nuclear fragmentation. However, as we...
متن کاملInequalities Relating Critical Exponents
During modern era of critical phenomena, several inequalities between critical exponents have been derived. However most of these inequalities depend on some assumptions. Beside this, some of these inequalities can be replaced by equalities. Several solved classical models as well as some recent theories have helped us to check the validity of these inequalities. To check these inequalities in ...
متن کاملCritical Exponents of Erbium
The exponent P that describes the sinusoidally modulate d * paramagnetic phase transition crosses over from a value of 0.39 near TN to a mean field value away from TN. Electrical resistivity measurements near TN are given for the c axis and the critical behaviour is discussed. Erbium orders below its NBel temperature TN= 85 K with its spins directed along the c axis of the hcp crystal and with ...
